1.5 inch internal speaker, capable of loud clear distortion free speech.  Approximately 0.5watt, enough volume to easily overcome noisy environments

Two AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries, 1000 maH.  Approximate run time before charge: 2 to 3 weeks.  Built in charger using USB or USB brick.
Speech
Clear easily understood female voice.  Other languages are optional.  Volume is adjustable.  Speech is prerecorded synthesized speech from Neospeech.

RF low power; range up to 20 feet. Both US and European frequency ranges planned

Used for software upgrades, and data download, battery charging.

Functions
Download
Receives all pump settings and data.  First time download saved so pump can be restored to original settings.
Transmit
Sends data back to the pump, so that any changes made at the PumpMate are also made on the pump
Set Bolus User selects bolus amount with audio and visual confirmation.  PumpMate sends bolus to pump.
Set Max Bolus
User can set the upper limit for a bolus
Set Bolus Inc
User can set the bolus increment
Basal Edit
User can modify any of 3 basal profiles.  Start times, basal rates, and individual basal time periods can be added or deleted.  The active basal profile can be set.
Basal Limit
User can specify the maximum basal rate to be allowed
Time/Date
Current time / date can be set and sent to pump, or conversely, time / data can be obtained from the pump.
BG Reminders
Audio reminders to test your blood glucose levels can be programmed for various times of the day.
